Collaboration aims to help improve performance of 9-1-1 call centers
Concept Seating today announced a collaborative partnership with The Denise Amber Lee Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the performance of public safety telecommunication centers.
Along with donating a portion of each chair and stool sold in the Public Safety market to the Denise Amber Lee Foundation, Concept Seating will also promote the foundation’s mission and training summits, including through tradeshow displays and the distribution of literature.
“We were founded on the idea that high-quality ergonomic seating is integral to the job performance of public safety workers and other vital personnel who spend much of their time sitting,” stated Joel Vento, Concept Seating VP of Sales and Marketing. “We’re excited to support The Denise Amber Lee Foundation’s relentless effort to ensure that Public Safety Telecommunicators have all the knowledge and equipment necessary for performing their critical duties at a high level.”
“We are honored to partner with Concept Seating, who has been an industry leader in providing high-quality seating solutions for 9-1-1 centers across the country. Their support is integral in helping the Denise Amber Lee Foundation's efforts in making our nation's 9-1-1 centers the best they can be” says Denise Amber Lee Foundation President, Nathan Lee.
About The Denise Amber Lee Foundation: The Denise Amber Lee Foundation was founded in June of 2008 following Denise’s tragic death, which might have been prevented were it not for inefficiencies in the local 9-1-1 call center. Denise’s husband, Nathan Lee, now travels the country telling Denise’s story with the goal of helping 9-1-1 centers avoid similar occurrences. Additionally, The Denise Amber Lee Foundation provides training summits, consultations, quality assurance reviews, and equipment recommendations to public safety telecommunication centers across the United States. You can read more about Denise’s story and the Foundation’s mission at deniseamberlee.org.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - March 17, 2014 - LJ Design & Manufacturing, a division of Laacke & Joys Company LLC, is moving operations out of downtown Milwaukee where it has been located since 1960. Their owners, Marsha and Terry Mather, purchased a 50,560 sq. ft. building at 3205 N.124th Street, Brookfield and will move the manufacturing operations by the end of June. The growth of the manufacturing division has made it necessary to find a larger, more modern facility. “We are very pleased to have a company with the such a rich history, strong name and reputation choose this location in the City of Brookfield”, said Mayor Steven V. Ponto, “LJ Design & Manufacturing moving to our 124th St. Commerce District reinforces the momentum we have seen and the investments the City is planning in that area.”
LJ Design & Manufacturing produces quality sewn products for OEMs, industrial and medical applications, municipalities, schools, universities, construction and military. In 2012 they acquired the assets of Concept Seating and have since been manufacturing and marketing a line of intensive use, 24/7, dispatch chairs.
The new location will help maximize efficiencies, simplify operations, and allow for future growth. LJ Design & Manufacturing is excited about having the space to add new capabilities to better serve their customers.
This move was planned, as the company made public their plans to expand their LJ Design & Manufacturing division and consolidate their retail operations to one store back in October of 2012. Laacke & Joys retail has been operating exclusively out of their flagship store in Brookfield at 19233 W Bluemound Road, since February 1, 2014. The building received updates and upgrades to the interior in late 2013, giving the store a fresh and modern look to better match the high quality products they sell.
We will be featuring the newly redesigned 3142r1 High Back and the 3150 Task chairs at the World Protection and Gaming Conference being held at the M Resort in Las Vegas February 24th through the 26th. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Milwaukee, Wisconsin - January 20, 2014 - Concept Seating, the originator of the 24/7 intensive use chair, introduces the 3142r1. It is built with the same principals that has made the 3142 an industry standard in control rooms and dispatch centers for over 15 years, but redesigned from the inside out.
Every part of the 3142 was evaluated in designing the 3142r1 with improvements from the casters up. The goal was not to tamper with the firmness and support one feels when first sitting in the 3142, but preserving that new chair feel even after years of continuous 24/7 use. The biggest change was the internal frame and how the occupant’s weight is supported. Weight of the occupant is now supported on an improved frame design which can hold more weight than the original 3142 and maintaining that support without degradation for a longer period of time. In addition, cosmetic improvements were made throughout the 3142r1 without compromising the original chairs’ heavy duty industrial look.
The new 3142r1 will now be available in leather, fabric, and the newly introduced alternative leather. The alternative leather has the look and feel of real leather with the breathability of fabric. Treated with Silverguard (Silver Ion Technology), this material fights bacteria, diminishes odors, promotes freshness, resists tough stains, and extends the life of the coverset. Alternative leather will be priced between fabric and leather.
Options still include embroidery, adjustable neck roll and a variety of caster options including glides. The 3142r1 will also be available with the new optional swing arms that have arm pads that are adjustable fore and aft as well as in and out while seated.
